Entrepreneur FAQ

What size of loan can I apply for?

There is no minimum or maximum amount that you can apply for.

What should I expect once I’ve submitted my business idea?

There is no set amount of time the process takes. COIN, along with volunteer mentors, can help you with the application process and once complete, will circulate your Business Opportunity to COIN investors. Some COIN entrepreneurs may be invited to a COIN membership meeting to present their idea to investors. Not all loan requests are funded, so providing a compelling business case is important.

How are loans structured and made?

The terms of loans are arranged directly between the investor and the borrowing business. Investor members will use an instrument of their choice – usually a promissory note.

I don’t live in Clallam County. Am I eligible to join COIN and meet COIN investors?

No, COIN is intended for Clallam County only. However, we can assist you in finding resources to help you achieve your goals.

How do I know if I have a solid business plan?

We strongly recommend that all COIN entrepreneurs work with the Center for Inclusive Entrepreneurship (CIE) or the local Small Business Development Center (SBDC) to ensure their business plans are investable.
